Our Team

Rena Lasch

Rena is a ‘hands on’ life-long learner and experience gatherer, and a grounding influence at the studio.

Her main goal is that when you walk though the front door of Studio 228, that you to leave the world behind and enter a space where you to relax, unwind, learn and laugh.

Rayne MacPhee

Rayne MacPhee is a multidisciplinary artist, educator and advocate originally from South Carolina. She has spent the past ten years as a highschool art teacher, teaching art in juvenile detention centers. As the studio manager at studio 228, her work reflects a dedication to both craft and community, helping us with our social media, community organizing and helping keep our studio clean and efficient!

A dedicated clay artist and instructor, Becky has spent years deepening her knowledge through workshops, conferences, and leadership within the Blue Ridge Potters Guild, where she has served as secretary, show chair, and president since becoming a member in 2009.

Her experience includes regular attendance at the North Carolina Clay Conference and participation in workshops such as the Women’s Symposium in Clay at Hollins University. Through teaching, she has combined her passions for clay and education, helping others create unique ceramic artwork while continually growing as an artist herself.

Yael Braha

Shaped by an eclectic, multi-ethnic upbringing in Italy and North African heritage, and with a background in graphic design, filmmaking, and sculpture, Yael designs and hand-builds one-of-a-kind contemporary ceramic objects. In 2025, she received an Honorable Mention at the Cheongju Craft Biennale in Korea. In 2024, she was a Finalist and Honorable Mention recipient at the 13th Mino International Ceramic Triennale in Japan and was named an Emerging Artist by the American Craft Council. Yael has held solo exhibitions internationally, including at the Museum of Contemporary Ceramic Art in Shigaraki, Japan.
